Collaborators of the DSECT program facilitate the trainee learning experience by committing to specific program objectives. These objectives include bridging scientific domains related to drug discovery, effectiveness and safety research by linking complementary disciplines at both trainee and mentor levels; providing a rich learning environment that is content and research methods focused; increasing the use of interdisciplinary approaches; providing tangible opportunities for trainees to develop collaborative research skills; providing direct opportunities for trainees to learn and practice research skills; and incorporating knowledge translation learning and activities at all stages of the training program.
