Biography
Afsaneh is currently a post-doctoral research fellow in the Division of Neurology, Department of Medicine at the University of British Columbia under the supervision of Dr. Helen Tremlett. Previously Afsaneh completed her MD at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Iran. Her main research interest lies in Multiple Sclerosis (MS), the leading cause of disability among the youth. Her specific areas of interest include the natural history, prognosis, impact of drug treatments, and pharmacoepidemiology of MS. She is currently investigating the effectiveness of the most common disease-modifying drugs for MS in clinical practice by examining their impact on long-term disability outcomes. Also, she uses population-based linked health care databases in her research.
