Biography
Erika is currently a PhD student in the Department of Medical Genetics at the University of British Columbia under the supervision of Dr. Colin Ross. She previously completed a Bachelor of Medical Sciences in the Departments of Biochemistry and Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Western Ontario. Her research interests are centred on pharmacogenomics, with the ultimate goal of reducing adverse drug reactions and providing safer and more effective treatments for patients. Specifically, Erika’s PhD project focuses on identifying genetic variants associated with anthracycline-induced cardiotoxicity. When Erika is not researching, she can be found exploring nature, playing soccer, and eating ice cream.
