Biography

First becoming intrigued by the condition of neuropathic pain while still an undergraduate, Jason has pursued this topic in both his MSc. (Pharmacology) and present PhD research (Anatomy / Neuroscience). While plasticity of the nervous system is vital to recovery following injury, maladaptive plasticity may also occur that facilitates the transmission and perception of pain signals. His research interest is to better understand the biological changes that underlying this pain permissive state, and the investigation of compounds that may be of therapeutic benefit in reducing the burden of neuropathic pain.
