Biography

I am a postdoctoral fellow at the Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy programme at the University of British Columbia and the Canadian Pharmacogenomics Network for Drug Safety under the supervision of Dr Bruce Carleton. I completed my pharmacy degree at the University of Nairobi, Kenya, and my Doctor of Philosophy (DPhil) degree in Clinical Medicine at the University of Oxford, UK. My research interests are in pharmacoepidemiology, pharmacogenomics and health/global health policy. My current project is aimed at evaluating the applicability of a pharmacogenetic testing strategy to reduce the risk (and associated costs) of serious adverse reactions that result from cisplatin or anthracycline therapy.
