Nyasha is a Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Waterloo, School of Pharmacy under the supervision of Dr. Michael Beazely (School of Pharmacy) and Dr. John Mielke (School of Public Health and Health Systems). Previously, she completed a B.Sc. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. Nyasha’s research interests are in neuropharmacology. Her research explores the impact of stress on Receptor Tyrosine Kinase transactivation in neurons. Employing a rodent model of early life stress (Chronic Early Life Social Isolation), her research also explores the impact of early life adversity on key neuronal receptors and signaling proteins in the adult brain.
