Biography

McMaster University. Originally a physician from Kazakhstan, I developed a passion towards evidence based health and drug policies and spent quite a bit of professional time working for international agencies and Canadian organizations involved with health issues globally (e.g., the World Bank, the Canadian Society for International Health). My research in the field of health technology assessment allows me to focus more on economic aspects of drug use and decision making practices. Under the supervision of Dr. Jean-Eric Tarride, I will investigate the economic implications of optimized drug management among the high cost users in Ontario. My previous education also includes a Master of Public Health degree from Boston University (USA) during which I interned at the WHO Collaborating Center in Pharmaceutical Policy. Areas of interest outside of research include playing the classical guitar. I have been an active member of the Guitar Society of Toronto (GST) performing chamber pieces regularly as part of the GST Orchestra as well as in solo and duo.
