Biography

Siyana Kurteva is a second year PhD candidate in epidemiology, with a concentration in pharmacoepidemiology at McGill University. She previously holds a bachelor degree in pharmacology from McGill University.  Her research is focused broadly on opioid prescribing practices and opioid-related safety issues. She is interested in investigating how ‘excess’ opioid use may lead to an increased risk of healthcare utilization.
