Biography
Vanessa is currently a PhD student in the Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Occupational Health at McGill University. She is under the supervision of Dr. Kristian B. Filion, Assistant Professor in the Departments of Medicine and of EBOH at McGill, and an Investigator at the Center for Clinical Epidemiology at the Center for Clinical Epidemiology at the Lady Davis Institute of the Jewish General Hospital. Vanessa holds an MSc in Public Health from the School of public health of Université de Montréal, and a BSc in Kinesiology from McGill University. Prior to pursuing her doctoral studies, Vanessa was employed at the Research Center of the Université de Montréal Hospital Center (CRCHUM), where she worked on several research projects pertaining to the Human Papillomavirus vaccination. This experience greatly sparked her interest for pharmacoepidemiology, and led her to pursue doctorate studies in this field. Vanessa’s research will be focused on cardiovascular and respiratory diseases. For this project, she will examine the respiratory safety of the antidiabetic SGLT-2 inhibitors.
