Biography

Farzin is pursuing his doctoral studies in Epidemiology (Pharmacoepidemiology Stream) at Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics, and Occupational Health at McGill University. His research interests include conducting large population-based observational studies to examine the safety and effectiveness of medications in chronic diseases and developing novel methodology with application to pharmacoepidemiological studies.

For his doctoral thesis, Farzin is examining the utilization, safety, and effectiveness of endocrine therapy in post-menopausal women diagnosed with breast cancer. To address these objectives, he is using electronic medical records and hospital databases based in the United Kingdom. Farzin is pursuing his studies under the supervision of Dr. Samy Suissa and Dr. Laurent Azoulay at Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics, and Occupational Health at McGill University and Centre for Clinical Epidemiology at Jewish General Hospital. Previously, he completed his M.Sc. (University of British Columbia) and B.Sc. (University of Victoria) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
