Biography
Currently a PhD candidate at the University of Waterloo, my area of research is population health and epidemiology, predominately focusing on youth health and physical activity. Throughout my academic career I’ve made my way around Southern Ontario attending McMaster University, Brock University, Western University (formerly UWO), University of Toronto, and now the University of Waterloo. As a researcher I’ve worked on some large population health studies, such as the Ontario Health Study and the National Youth Smoking Survey, and some smaller intervention studies as well. Most importantly, as a graduate student I was a trainee in a CIHR training program similar to DSECT that focused on chronic disease prevention. I really enjoyed being a trainee in that program, interacting with nationally and internationally recognized experts in my field, and found it to be an experience like none other in my graduate student career. I’m excited to be involved with a training program once again and look forward to getting to know each of you throughout the year. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help facilitate a positive experience for you.
